1.Car navigation system that shows the driving range of an electric vehicle

Mitsuo Yasushi, Tatsuya Fukuda, Susumu Ohsawa, Kyoichiro Fujii

Summary

System, that estimates the cruising range of the electric vehicles and displays the range on the map, is developed. The driving range of an electric vehicle is highly dependent on the battery state of charge, the traffic jam, vehicle performance, and driver's action. With the parameters fed to the mathematical model, this system allows accurate prediction of driving range. This report describes the result of "Effectiveness of the program (that composes the system above)" that is experimentally verified.

Summary

We are developing an ultrahigh-sensitive camera used a unique image sensor which consists of High-efficiency Electron Emission Device (HEED) and High-gain Avalanche Rushing amorphous Photoconductor (HARP). The camera has not only capability of low light imaging but also useful features such as low power consumption, radiation- tolerance and so on. In this article, we introduce some imaging data of the HEED-HARP camera for innovative applications.

Summary

Ever proposed gesture interfaces, which control equipment without any controller, have serious problems. Those operation area is limited tightly and exaggerated gesture are required. We resolve them with multi-camera view and a hand-waving detection algorithm. With a slight gesture, we can control any equipments from any place in the room. Whole idea is proposed in ViEW2010.

Summary

Integration technique of high-performance RF-LSI and three-dimensional MEMS micro coil is one of the key technologies to realize a future wireless telecommunication service or a hypersensitive capacitance sensor system. In this study, we realized three-dimensional micro coil of 234μm in diameter with a higher Q and a inductance value by using MEMS fabrication techniques. The micro coil was designed with three-dimensional field simulator. Moreover, we fabricated a three-dimensional micro coil on LSI substrate isolating from the LSI substrate with monolithic technique, and also succeeded in confirming the basic operation of the integrated oscillator circuit in GHz range.
