Chihiro Hirose, Osamu Yamazaki, Kohei Ito, Katsuhiko Takahashi, Naohiko Ichihara

Summary

We released "Cyber Navigation" equipped with " AR Scouter Mode" in the end of May, 2011. " AR Scouter Mode " is the function to analyze images of a front camera in a vehicle with the original image recognition technologies in real time and to display these outputs in cooperation with the information of the navigation. By overlaying them on real video, the driver can easily understand true scenery and necessary information for driving. We comment on "front vehicle departure detection", "signal change detection", "lane change detection and indication" and "front car distance indication" using the image recognition technologies, and "guidance" and "3D landmark indication" using the AR technology.

2.Analysis of Low Loss Antenna for Wireless Power Transfer that Uses Magnetic Resonant Coupling

Tomoyuki Fujieda, Masami Suzuki

Summary

The loss-factor is analyzed in this paper for the antenna that uses the magnetic resonance coupling method. It reveals that the influence of the dielectric loss is larger than the radiation loss and the conductive loss in the electro-magnetic simulation. It is necessary to use a low loss dielectric for high efficient antenna. And forming the groove guide for wiring on the surface of the dielectric, we obtain the low tolerance of manufacturing the antenna.

3.Development of the Thermal Recording for High Density Disc Mastering

Shigenori Murakami, Nobuki Yamaoka, Makoto Matsukawa, Yukihiro Sugawara

Summary

For the next generation read-only disc of the Blue-ray disc, higher density is expected. We thought that the capacity would be over 100GB/φ120mm disc. A mastering process is main theme of high density read-only disc manufacturing. Several methods, short wave length laser recording, electron beam recording, thermal recording and so on, are proposed for high density disc mastering. We selected the thermal recording mastering. As a result, we confirmed the feasibility of the 250GB data recorded master using this process and 100GB ROM type polycarbonate disc in Solid Immersion Lens (SIL) equipped system.

4.Finger Direction Recognition Using Color Clustering

Hidetsugu Asano, Takeshi Nagayasu, Tatsuya Orimo, Kenji Terabayashi, Mutsumi Ohta, Kazunori Umeda

Summary

We propose a method to recognize finger direction using multiple cameras. Input images are segmented by color clustering, and shapes of the segments is analyzed. With these techniques, some restrictions in the previous method, such as limitations of operation area and predefined skin color, are removed. The proposed method realizes a stable gesture interface that controls equipments without a hand-held device. Main part of the method in this paper has already been proposed in ViEW2011.

Masaki Goma, Shuntaro Mori, Atsuya Ito, Shinya Hashimoto, Hiroyuki Ishihara, Kiyoshi Tateishi, Yoshinori Kimura

Summary

We are developing the small laser doppler blood flow sensor which measures the peripheral blood flow in the living body by applying the optical disc technology. The feature of the blood flow sensor is small, wearable, and free from noise due to body motion. Therefore it is realized that the unprecedentedly stable blood flow measurement under the dynamic environment such as exercise and daily life. In this article, we introduce the outline of the small blood flow sensor and example of its measurement using fundamental data.
