Pioneer to Double In-car Audiovisual Production Capacity in BrazilTransferring Current Facilities to Build a New Production Base
March 28, 2007, Tokyo, Japan - Pioneer Corporation announced today that the company has decided to greatly boost the production capacity for in-car audiovisual products to address the expected demand growth in the Brazilian market. To this end, Pioneer will transfer the current facilities and build a new production base in Manaus, Brazil.
The new production base will swing into operation in April 2008, and will have a production capacity double that of the current level.
Pioneer launched its car audio production/sales subsidiary, Pioneer do Brasil Ltda., in 2003. Since making its full-dress entry into the Brazilian car audio market, the company has strongly promoted its car electronics business in Brazil.
