Jan. 9, 2007, Tokyo, Japan - Pioneer Corporation has announced that the company will release its AVIC-D3 DVD-ROM based in-car navigation system, merging high-quality navigation and entertainment functions in a double DIN chassis, in the North American consumer market in March 2007 for a suggested price of US$1,000.

North American consumers are becoming increasingly interested in car navigation systems that are compatible with portable audio players and mobile phones, have plenty of audio and video features, and offer exciting designs that blend well with car interiors.

In response to these needs, Pioneer's AVIC-D3 is equipped with the latest A/V and networking features, and is designed to match the interiors of various cars.
