Pioneer Corporation, Tokyo, Japan, has announced the release in Japan of the SH-DTR1000 BS Digital Tuner with a built-in hard disk drive, which fully conforms to all BS digital broadcasts and services.
This new product is able to record up to 5 hours of BS digital Hi-Vision high-definition programs and play them back with high resolution quality, just as they were broadcast. In addition, it can digitally record analog terrestrial TV broadcast programs or other external video sources for up to 48 hours (in LP mode).
The hard disk capability of the SH-DTR1000 also offers such useful features as Time-Shift Viewing, with which users can enjoy TV programs anytime, regardless of their broadcast time.
The SH-DTR1000 is a product fit for the 21st century, the digital broadcasting age, creating a new way of enjoying TV programs and services which current video recorders are unable to offer.
