TOKYO, JAPAN, August 31st, 2000 ----- Pioneer Corporation announced its introduction of two new portable DVD players. The new players are capable to reproduce a wide range of digital AV formats, including DVD-RW.

"PDV-LC20TV" has a small and shallow body, with height of 35.4mm and the same size of a tall-type DVD software jacket ( 190mm x 142mm). Its weight is only 890g, including a battery. It is one of the smallest and the lightest* models with its built-in 7-inch wide-screen type display in the market. Thanks to Pioneer's state-of-art technology, you can carry it anywhere and enjoy your favorite programs at anyplace.

Pioneer also makes it possible that you can enjoy not only pre-recorded CD and DVD software but also CD-R, CD-RW and DVD-RW discs on which you recorded your favorites by yourself. The built-in 7-inch wide screen features an 'amorphous silicon' TFT type LCD Display (336,960 pixels), which high resolution pictures give you an exciting high fidelity experience. And the wide 7-inch screen with anti-Glare and anti-Reflection coatings was improved its display performance a great deal even under daylight.

For TV watchers, PDV-LC20TV offers you the built-in TV tuner and high quality built-in stereo speakers. Also a twin stereo headphone output make you enjoy it for two. And when you show pictures to somebody in front of you, the full flat structure with 'Reversible Display Function' makes viewing much easier for him or her.

The "PDV-20" introduced at the same time is a model without a LCD display and TV tuner. But instead, "PDV-20" can be connected with Olympus 'Eye-Trek**' Face-Mount-Display. With the direct connector for PDV-20 'ET-MC02P', commercialized by Olympus, the integration of Audio Video Signal supply and Power supply is easily done, enabling a direct and smart connection with the display.
