TOKYO, Japan, February 18, 1998 ----- Pioneer Electronic Corporation announced its introduction of the PDP-V7 Plasma Display for industrial use, to the Japanese domestic market.

As Pioneer believes Plasma Display (PDP) will take place of CRT TV, it has placed PDP as one of its key business domains. Pioneer has made a lot of effort to develop and introduce the ideal PDP to answer a broad matter of demands.
In December 1997, Pioneer announced its first consumer use PDP product, the PDP-501HD 50 Inch Hi-Vision Plasma Display System, to the Japanese domestic market. Ever since its launch, the 50-inch PDP has enjoyed a great popularity because of its excellent image quality and slim design.

Today, Pioneer introduces its first industrial use PDP, the PDP-V7, to every market found in the world.
The PDP-V7 is designed to fit in any commercial or public space, to display visual information film in an outstanding image quality. With its slim shape and broad choices of installation kits, the PDP-V7 can be set at places where conventional type CRT and Rear-Projection Type Cube Systems were not. Also, with the technologies at the highest level in the world, the PDP-V7 promises a Hi-Brightness, Hi-Contrast Image Quality with the durability and reliability demanded in industrial uses.
Furthermore, Pioneer plans to release a corresponding model to the US and European market in March and April 1998.
Pioneer also plans to market a special “Rental Package” for rental businesses. The package contains a PDP-V7 and “PDK-4005” Bracket kit, with a special carrying case to support the user for easy setting-up and transporting.

By inheriting Pioneer’s State-of-the-Art technologies applied in its flagship model DVD-Video player, the DV-S9, a high quality picture and sound will be assured.

1 ) 400cd/m² High Brightness

A Hi-Brightness of 400cd/m²(White Peak), which is the highest level in the industry, has been realized by the optimum cell structure technology.

2 ) 40 inch Screen Size & 4:3 Aspect Ratio

A 40 Inch Sized Screen with a 4:3 Aspect Ratio has been adopted to match the general standard of commercial visual software and computer image data.

3 ) Compact Size (Thickness of 88mm Weighing 38 kg)

A thickness of only 88mm and weight of 38kg has been realized to allow a variety of installation methods, that could not be offered by conventional type display monitor systems.

4 ) The Ideal Display for Industrial Uses

The PDP-V7 is designed to meet various demands of industrial use.

1. A Broad Variety of Installing Methods.
2. “Integrator Mode” has been equipped for even more precise adjustment.
3. “RS-232C External Control Terminal” is equipped for picture adjustment with PC's.
4. Equipped with “Color Temperature Converter” function for re-exposure.

5 ) A Broad Selection of Installation Parts

The following parts are available as options for a broad selection of installation methods.

1. “PDK-4001” Inclined Stand Mounting Kit (S.R.P.: ¥30,000)
   The PDK-4001 will allow the PDP-V7 to be set on a flat surface, at a vertical position or to an adjustable upward-inclined position(maximum adjustable level: 20°).
2. “PDK-4002” Ceiling Hanging Kit(S.R.P.: ¥80,000)
   A pipe type hanging kit, which enables ceiling hanging of singular PDP use. The PDK-4002 will allow the PDP-V7 to be set and faced at an adjustable horizontally rotated position(adjustable maximum level: ±45°). Also, the PDP will be able to be set at an adjustable downward-tilted position(maximum of 25°). The total thickness of the PDP-V7 and PDK-4002 combination is under 170mm when set at a complete vertical position.
3. “PDK-4003” Ceiling Hanging Kit(S.R.P.: ¥120,000)
   A pipe type kit for ceiling hanging of two PDP-V7s at the same time. The displays can be hung back to back under a width of 470 mm when both installed with the kit, at a complete vertical position.
4. “PDK-4004” Ceiling Hanging Kit(S.R.P.: ¥45,000)
   A low-cost kit, which contains only bolts. A downward-tilt position can be set at an adjustment level of a maximum of 25°.
5. “PDK-4005” Bracket Kit(S.R.P.: ¥30,000)
   The bracket can be used as a handle for when moving the PDP, as a loop for when using wires for installation, and also as a frame for wall hanging.
6. PDP Protection Filter(launch schedule: June 1998)
   A filter designed to protect the PDP-V7 from external shock.
