News Release：Pioneer Introduces the "LOOPMASTER" Portable CD Player Series

TOKYO, Japan, November 25, 1997 ----- Pioneer announces its introduction of the new "LOOPMASTER" Portable CD Player Series (price: open / launch date: January '98 / production: total of 20,000pcs per month) to the Japanese domestic market.

< Planning Concept >

"Street Culture" is a new word, reflecting the mode of life of the young generation. Their life styles are very much interactive with music trends (especially club music and dance music), fashions and the likes, and in this sense, Street Culture is made of self-assertion of today's young people and it does not seem to be a transitory rage, instead it may take a firm hold on the life-style of the young.

"LOOPMASTER", a portable CD player is what Pioneer will propose to young people as a creative audio gear on the streets. LOOPMASTER itself is self-assertive. The fashionably designed player with its see-through body, together with a rotating CD software inside will become a creature of sound. Pioneer will introduce 11 design variations.

Pioneer will collaborate with other creators of fashions to present a new style of audio entertainment; for example, CD software with a unique design for LOOPMASTER-use is planed to be released.

< Main Features >

1. See-through design, the whole CD label can be seen. The upper CD lid is made of a transparent material, therefore, while playing a CD, the label gives a special effect of changing patterns. So just changing a CD adds different visual impressions on the hardware itself.
2. Each hardware design is representing a special music genre or an artist. On PCD-006 and PCD-007, one of Techno music artists participated in its cosmetic design. The two models are self-illuminating in black-light and letters and patterns shows up.
3. To carry a LOOPMASTER, special belts are also designed exclusively as ccessories.
   A belt is attached onto PCD-009, 010 and 011 as a standard, other models also can be fitted with a fashionable belt depending on the user's taste.
4. Anti-vibration 10seconds guard memory function.
5. A pair of stereo headphones with a remote control switch and rechargeable batteries are included.
6. Boost-up circuitry for enriched and powerful bass sound is built-in.
7. Conveinient play modes, repeat, random and program play.
