"L+ model 7 (X-LP7)"

August 27, 1997 Tokyo, Japan, --- Pioneer Electronic Corporation introduces it's New Style Mini-System, "L+ model 7 (X-LP7)" (price : ¥67,000/production : 3,500 pcs per month/ available at the beginning of October 1997), to the domestic market.

Today, there has been a growing interest in "interior decoration" among people varying from the age of 20 to 30. This generation considers furnishing and decorating their rooms as a fashion and a way to express themselves and their color of life. They decorate their rooms with furniture and all sorts of interior decorations so they can live a pleasant life in their own color and style.

Pioneer has managed to introduce a new Mini-System that matches the needs for this generation. A system that could blend itself into the atmosphere of these decorated rooms that express one's way of life. This new system, the "L+ model 7" can add a "+ (plus)" to "L (Life)" so people can enjoy and express themselves even more.

1 ) A Simple and Sophisticated "Interior Decoration" Touch Design

A simple, sophisticated design has been adopted to blend in naturally into the atmosphere of one's room as an interior decoration. A blend of two different type of textures on the main body and a high-grade Birds-eye maple applied in the speaker body greets the eye with a rich finish.

2 ) High-Grade Natural and Rich Sound

The Amplifier/Tuner/CD/player part consists a Hybrid amplifier which has been designed to effectively drive speakers with loads of varying impedance, resulting in enhanced hi-power and improved frequency response. Also, by laminating the Paper Center Cap of the woofer with a High Molecule Film and applying Buthyl Rubber in the cone edge, a natural and rich sound with low distortion has been realized.

3 ) Separate Display Unit

L+ model 7 is featured with a Separate Display Unit to evaluate the "interior decoration" touch in it's design. With a design similar to a photo stand, operations such as music playback, timer setting, and even punching in letters can be easily commanded. The display will show the time, date, chosen function (CD, Tuner, MD, Cassette Deck) and other basic characters at a selected brightness among five levels.

4 ) Optional Components

Future expansion will be allowed by connecting the following
optional components.

"MJ-L7" Mini Disc Recorder (exclusive for L+) (price:¥48,000 / production : 2,000pcs per month available at beginning of Oct.'97)
"CT-L7" Cassette Deck (exclusive for L+) (price:¥19,000 / production : 1,000 pcs per month available at beginning of Oct.'97)

5 ) Simple and User Friendly Wireless Remote Control

The user-friendly "card type" remote control will allow easy control. A remote control holder designed to match the Separate Display Unit will be packaged with the system.

6 ) Other Features

a convenient and easy to set amenity timer
auto-tuning FM/AM tuner
radio station sub-titles can be easily punched in and pre-set, displayed in alphabets or Japanese kata-kana figures when tuned in
OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) 20 wire cord is applied for speaker cables
