Pioneer to Exhibit at CES ASIA 2016The Consumer Electronics Show held in Shanghai, China

Pioneer China Holding Co., Ltd. (“Pioneer China”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Pioneer Corporation, will exhibit at CES ASIA 2016, the consumer electronics show held in Shanghai, China from Wednesday, May 11, 2016 to Friday, May 13, 2016.

Pioneer aims to be a leader in “Comprehensive Infotainment” in vehicles. The Pioneer booth will showcase a wide array of cutting-edge technologies and advanced driver assistance system-related technologies under development, as well as car electronics products developed in cooperation with IT companies to enable connected cars.

Details of Main Items on Display

(1) Automated driving related technologies under development, such as 3D-LiDAR sensors (reference exhibit)

Pioneer will be displaying the advanced automated driving-related technologies it is working to develop, including a 3D-LiDAR driving space sensor and high-precision vehicle location, regarded as a key devices for automated driving.

(2) Next-generation cockpits of “In-Vehicle Contextual Awareness” (reference exhibit)

Visitors can enjoy a simulated driving experience featuring a connected car in an advanced in-vehicle environment. Contextual awareness technology recognizes and anticipates every situation in the midst of the constantly changing circumstances they encounter while driving and provides, at the most optimal timing, information that drivers need.

(3) Various advanced driver assistance system-related technologies including the “Drowsiness Detection Unit” (reference exhibit)

In addition to the Drowsiness Detection Unit, a system jointly developed with Suzhou Tsingtech Microvision Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. under the Tsinghua University Suzhou Automotive Research Institute to detect drowsiness of a driver with high-accuracy, Pioneer will showcase a range of advanced driver assistance system-related technologies that are currently under development.

(4) Latest car electronics products enabling a connected car driving experience

We will display the car electronics products developed in coordination with IT companies to enable connected cars. In addition to showcasing a range of cloud-based services integrated with smartphones, visitors will be able to experience powerful sound in a demonstration vehicle.
