News Release：Pioneer Introduces Its New Car Audio Line-Up

TOKYO, Japan, September 29, 1999 ----- Pioneer Corporation announced its introduction of five new CARROZZERIA brand car audio products, to the Japanese domestic market.

1 ) A New Luxurious Design

1. Aluminum 'slide-flap' front panel
   Although simple, both models have a luxurious and unique design in the aluminum "slide-flap' front panel that will match any car interior.
2. Blue Colored Back-light Display for easy recognition
   A Blue Colored Backlight display has been applied for higher visibility. The present situation of all sources can be easily read at a glance.
3. Blue Colored LED applied in Volume knob and Cross Control key
   With the combination of the green colored LED that lights up the control buttons, a blue colored LED has been applied in the volume knob and cross-control key for higher visibility recognition at night. The green and blue LEDs will illuminate the whole car cabin.
4. Wood Grain panel applied in the hidden MD (P9900MD) and CT (P8800) slot
   A wood grain panel has been applied in the MD/CT slot that is hidden behind the 'slide-slot' front panel. When the user opens the motorized front panel, the wood grain panel will emerge from behind, to show another luxurious touch.
5. The Control Keys have been allocated in a convenient order based on the frequency of use. The main controls have been centralized in the 'cross-control key'.

2 ) State-of-the-art Technologies to Realize a High Quality Sound

1. Pioneer original 'Power MOS FET 45W x 4ch Built-in High Power Amplifier
   Both models have a built-in 45W x 4ch amplifier, which is the most powerful level in the industry, that can reproduce a clear high quality sound with a low distortion level equal to that of a component amplifier.
2. 'Digital Hi-bit Tune' Technology
   16bit based digital signals of MDs are first converted to 20bit data, then they're transferred through the DPS circuit and the signals are again converted to 24bit based signals to result in a real, high-quality sound.
3. Wide-range 'Legato Link Conversion'
   The 'Legato Link Conversion' will restore the rich harmonics and overtones (over 20kHz) that were lost in the CD and MD recording process.
4. High-performance DSP and Auto-Equalizing Function
   By using the enclosed microphone, the equalization can be set at its best to fit any acoustic condition in the car cabin, to reproduce the best quality sound.
5. 'Gold-plated input/output terminals' and 'OFC type RCA cables' used to maintain the lowest level of signal loss.

1. 3 Main Sources (MD, CD, FM/AM Tuner) all in a 1D size
   Three main sources, MD, CD and FM/AM Tuner, are all in the thin 1D sized body. If the car has a 2D sized console ready in the dashboard, the user can set an 'in-dashboard type' TV monitor to enjoy also TV broadcasting.
2. Features Organic EL Display
   Organic EL display is a 'self-emitting' type display with superior benefits of high luminescence, high visibility, ultra-thin thickness and very small power consumption. As the organic EL is a self-emitting type display, it has a wider viewing angle and it achieves high visibility under any lighting condition day and night. In addition to its 4 color EL panels, the high-speed response display realizes high definition pictures with clear edges.
