TOKYO, Japan, February 19, 1998 ----- Pioneer announced its introduction of the first industrial use DVD player, “DVD-V700” , to the Japanese domestic market. The DVD-V700 has been designed genuinely for industrial use, realizing superior durability and high reliability to meet severe requirements.

In 1980, Pioneer has introduced a Laser disc player for industrial use and since then the company has invented a variety of applications, taking advantage of high accessibility of the laser disc format. Also the company has provided innovative approaches into such criteria of the laser disc like reliability, high resolution and high quality sound. Pioneer has always taken the lead in the industrial applications of optical disc technology.
