In 1980, Pioneer has introduced a Laser disc player for industrial use and since then the company has invented a variety of applications, taking advantage of high accessibility of the laser disc format. Also the company has provided innovative approaches into such criteria of the laser disc like reliability, high resolution and high quality sound. Pioneer has always taken the lead in the industrial applications of optical disc technology. The DVD, after finalizing its specifications, has been getting a great future in various industrial fields. Its marketability has been increasing a great deal. Pioneer will lead the industrial market of the DVD by introducing the DVD-V700, which is an outcome of the company’s long experiences in the laser disc and know-how of Optical disc technology for industrial use.

The DVD-V700 has been developed for the use of a tool in various business scenes, such as sales promotions, presentations and visual displays for various training or educational purposes. The player has adopted many features currently available to an laser player for the industrial use. In size-wise, it has become smaller with 210mm width for easy and space saving installation. The heart of the player is a brushless spindle motor with proven high reliability. Pioneer believes the introduction of this DVD player will contribute to further expansion of the DVD market, especially in industrial area. Pioneer will continue its effort for the growth of the DVD.

< The main features of the DVD-V700 >

  1. High durability....Adopting a high performance brushless spindle motor to realize a high level of heat resistance and dust-resistant construction.
  2. Space saving design..210mm width, one half of a conventional mounting rack, two players can sit side by side in a standard video rack.
  3. The player can be controlled by an outside computer through RS-232C command protocol. ( The protocol is common with that of a LD player and compatible with unique protocols of DVD format such as sub-picture and multi-angles. )
  4. Versatile visual signal outputs for industrial use. The player is equipped with BNC video out, S video out and color-difference signal out.
  5. Frame search. With a disc time code, it can search for a frame.
  6. DVD bar code. The search function can be controlled by a bar code system, and which is compatible with the LD bar code.
  7. Ready for outer optional switches. Just connecting a switch of your choice toRS-232C connector, a simple visual search function can be installed.
( You can allocate group signals such as "menu", “bar code stack”and “command stack” onto RS-232C pins.)
  8. Mouse control. (PS/2) It can be controlled by a mouse for the first in industry.
You can select the menu and control the player by a mouse.
  9. Barcode stack and command stack. Up to 300 commands can be stored and be segmented into different video sequence groups that can be automatically displayed.
  10. A weekly timer is built in. The player can be programmed for start-up time,turn-off time and a frame selection by a day of week.
  11. Video black board. You can draw lines and texts or paste drawings by a mouse or a key board, and these can be called out by a remote control or automatically displayed.
  12. Power on start. A picture frame can be registered.
  13. External sync lock with loop through. Supports black burst signal to allow for clean switching between DVD-V700 and other players or video sources.
