Pioneer to Showcase Connected Solutions for Two-Wheelers at CES 2025 in Las VegasJoining forces with other leading tech companies in open innovation efforts to develop Smart & Safety Ride solutions
Pioneer Corporation today announced its presence at CES 2025 (January 7-10, 2025) in Las Vegas to showcase devices and service solutions for making motorcycling safer and more rider-friendly (LVCC West Hall #3528). At CES, Pioneer will demonstrate technologies, products, and service solutions designed to gain wider acceptance of its connected services, and unveil achievements born out of its collaborative open innovation efforts with HERE Technologies and Microsoft.
The global motorcycle market is projected to achieve a CAGR of 6.5% from 2024 to 2032, and the Asia-Pacific region accounted for more than 60% of the global two-wheeler sales in 2023*1. India is a growth driver of the global motorcycle market, with a more than 20% year-on-year surge in sales during the first six months of 2024, and emerging trends observed in today’s global two-wheeler market include the growing popularity of electric motorcycles and the evolution of connected services for two-wheelers*2. In this burgeoning market, Pioneer intends to offer connected solutions for making motorcycling safer and more rider-friendly, playing an instrumental role in driving the further growth of the industry.
A compact driving recorder designed for motorcycles is equipped with AI-powered sensors that detect a road crash, which activates the eCall built-in safety feature, an automated call to emergency services.
This AI video analytics solution analyzes road accident footage captured by a dash cam, as well as data from in-car sensors, to help determine causes of the accident and liability percentages among involved parties.
Our proposed advanced rider assistance system (ARAS) solutions include a factory-installed smart cluster device and an add-on smart display. We will also showcase connected services that work with these devices to provide exciting new user experiences to riders.
Pioneer’s proprietary RIDE CONNECT SDK (software development kit) enables seamless BLE (Bluetooth® low energy) connectivity between a smartphone and a display mounted on a motorcycle, which allows riders of unconnected motorcycles to take advantage of a variety of connected services. The use of our SDK helps motorcycle manufacturers and service providers resolve issues associated with providing connected services for motorcycles, such as initial costs, reliability of network connectivity, and battery consumption.
We will demonstrate our intuitive HMIs (human machine interfaces) designed to help motorcyclists capture critical information on the road stress-free. Proposed HMI solutions include VOICE TAP voice command HMI, which frees the rider from having to manually operate the meter cluster and devices mounted on the motorcycle, and a navigation HMI based on a large language model (LLM) with Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service.
Pioneer will continue collaborative open innovation efforts with other leading technology companies to develop and deliver services and solutions for two-wheelers, broadly termed as “Smart & Safety Ride,” to motorcyclists around the globe.
