Tohoku Pioneer (Yamagata Prefecture) participates in the activity "Yamagata Kizuna Forest Project" to protect the limited forests. In this project, the 3 parties of enterprise, forest owner, and Yamagata Prefecture bind an agreement to engage in forest-making to realize regional activation and make full use of the diverse functions possessed by a forest to nurture and utilize the forest. Pioneer participates in forest preservation activities including "Tendo Fusigi No Mori" which has been carried out in an adjacent region to Tendo City's natural monument "Jyagaramogara." Four companies in Tendo City including Pioneer that have participated previously carried out the activity in February 2012. The activity was later carried out in June and October of 2014, and tree thinning and pruning were carried out and a "Planter case" was made with the thinned wood.
This activity was certified to be equivalent to a CO2 absorption amount of 0.96 tonnes-CO2/year in a 0.09 ha area in June 2017 by the Evaluation Certification Scheme for CO2 Forest Absorption, etc., of Yamagata Prefecture.
